Ian Hutchinson - Road Racing and British Supersport

Ian 'Hutchy' Hutchinson began racing competitively in 2001 before making appearances in the National Superstock 1000 Championship a year later. In 2003 he took part in his first road race, winning the Newcomers race at the Manx Grand Prix. Hutchinson then continued to mix circuit racing with the major road events; competing in the Superstock class at British Superbike Championship events until he moved up into the British Supersport Championship in 2007 with Honda UK. In the same season he took his first TT win at the Isle of Man in the Supersport race. Since then Hutchinson continued in the British Supersport series and in 2010 he became the first rider to win all five solo TT races in a week at the Isle of Man. Hutchinson was sidelined for most of the 2011 season following a crash at Silverstone the season before as he recovered from a broken tibia and fibula which required several operations to save his leg. Hutchinson made his return in 2011 at the Macau Grand Prix onboard the Swan Yamaha, securing a podium finish.
